Sanctions Screening Manager

The Sanctions Screening Manager supports the Global Sanctions Compliance Manager, this role will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to support the execution of Haleon's sanction compliance programme with a focus on Sanctions Screening. You will be leading the sanctions screening operations and providing a timely and effective service globally, acting as a first point of contact for escalations.

In this role you will be…

  • Supporting the Sanctions Centre of Excellence in strengthening Haleon’s control framework and performing impact assessment on implications to the screening operations
  • Overseeing the global screening operations and workflow relating to automatic and manual sanctions screening processes including responding to escalations and initiating blocking of customers, vendors and banks as appropriate
  • Completing quality checks on investigations and queries handled by the Screening Team to ensure they are in line with Haleon’s sanction policy and designed processes, and providing feedback on performance/quality of investigations
  • Partnering with the screening solution vendor to drive changes, fixes, and improvements as appropriate
  • Overseeing the performance of the screening solution by robustly testing the system routinely to ensure effective and efficient name matching
  • Representing the Screening Team in relevant internal meetings and presenting performance according to produced metrics and other management information
  • Leading on any relevant projects involving or impacting screening
  • Annually reviewing the sanctions lists within the screening solution and adding/removing as appropriate
  • Mentoring and developing the Screening Team by disseminating knowledge regarding sanctions compliance, upstream risks and sharing best practices, Indirect leading team of 5 individuals
  • Supporting business units and global support functions with queries relating to sanctions and providing targeted training where required
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing sanctions controls and processes

Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Relevant experience in sanctions risk identification, quantification and management
  • Previous exposure with automated sanctions screening solutions and risk mitigations
  • Depth of knowledge of sanctions regulations in particular UK/ UN/EU/OFAC sanctions laws and requirements
  • A knowledge of sanctions risks to implement and interpret sanctions policy ensuring Haleon is regulatory compliant
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and interpretation of sanctions risks
  • Experience working in a sanctions advisory function and knowledge of appropriate monitoring and controls to ensure sanctions compliance
  • ICA, ACAMS or other Sanctions related qualification
