Role Title: Waste Water Treatment Operator
Location: Central Otago - Alexandra
Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent
What you’ll be doing
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is keen to further their career in utilities. The role will see you involved in daily operation and maintenance across our network of water treatment plants.
This is a permanent full time opportunity with the 3 Waters utilities contract based in sunny Central Otago. Working as part of the team you will be responsible for the following:
- Safe and efficient operation of pump stations and treatment plants
- Routine testing and Inspections
- Minor upgrade work
- Responding to alarms after hours and monitoring of SCADA
- Ensuring a robust approach to compliance of our resource consents and the Drinking Water Standards.
The skills we’re after
- Experience in water treatment or other process orientated roles.
- Full class 1 license.
- Self-motivation coupled with ability to problem solve.
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Be a strong team player but with the Ability to work alone at times.
- National Certificate in Water Treatment (or working towards this) is preferable.
For the right candidate who is genuinely interested in this area of work, we will help you work towards your qualifications. This role involves being on-call at times, as part of a rotating roster so living in the CODC area is required along with some flexibility. You will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. PPE provided and all training will be given to the successful candidate.
